About

Christmas spritz cookies are just so darn cute! If you aren't familiar, they're yummy, buttery sugar cookies with a hint of almond extract for some extra flavor.

It's a really simple recipe with just a few ingredients, and the dough comes together really quickly!

You then use a cookie press to press the dough into the cutest shapes. My grandma always does a Christmas tree, so I followed her tradition this year!

Key Ingredients

Almond Extract

Almond extract gives these sugar cookies a fun flavor. It's pretty strong, so trust that the amount I have listed in the directions is enough!

Instructions

Prep

  1. Preheat oven to 300 F.
  2. Prepare cookie press with the desired pattern.

Make the Christmas Spritz Cookie Dough

  1. Cream together room temperature butter and sugar, until light in color and fluffy.
    • If your butter isn't room temperature, put it in the microwave and microwave in 7 second bursts, rotating the butter after each burst, until soft (about 3-4 turns).
  2. Blend in room temperature egg, vanilla, and almond extract until combined.
    • If your egg isn't at room temperature, put it in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes.
